IVAW Congressional Testimony

OK, so Montalvan we know. This is where we met him, and this was me discussing his exasperatingly ridiculous schematic diagram.

Washburn made an appearance here. Kinda lame. He likes to talk in specific about certain things, but fails completely to use any names, dates, places etc, so verifying him is impossible.

But who is this new guy? Kristofer Goldsmith. I didn't remember him, so I looked him up. Now mind you, this is the bio on the IVAW page for him:

He was assigned to take pictures of Iraqis found in a shallow grave, ostensibly for intelligence purposes, but they were only used as trophies by those who received them. After repeated commendations, he was expecting to return to civilian life and college when President Bush announced the “surge,” and the military adopted its stop-loss policy, essentially making Goldsmith a prisoner of war. He tried to kill himself rather than return to Iraq, but survived. He was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and PTSD, but then was discharged for misconduct as a malingerer. He now delivers pizzas and struggles to overcome his persisting symptoms with treatment through the VA.

Yes, Stop-Loss is almost EXACTLY like being a prisoner of war. Because on Stop-Loss you also are not given sufficient food to eat, and Stop-Loss soldiers often come down with beri-beri and similiar ailments. Discharged for misconduct as a malingerer. That's in his own bio. Holy wow. That's like me putting "unable to get a date with female bloggers, despite putting more effort into such than was expended by all Egyptian Slaves combined in the building of the pyramids."

OK, and now we have video(s), so pull up a chair kiddies and enjoy.

They're going to need more than three hours to hear Montalvan.

Other than press, I can't understand what this all about. I know they've taken the Winter Soldier theater on the road (as I wrote this weekend) because they can't get the mainstream media to cover it. None of them have been in Iraq in the last two years, so I don't see what they can testify to.

It looks like they're losing support and they're in their death throes.

Besides the ultra-cool (!!) hair-do -- I'm sorry, he just does NOT sound real. He just sounds fake. Whether I wanted to believe him or not, he is not coming across true and honest. And that's the kicker for me. No matter how I felt about the issue, I wouldn't believe him.

That's just me, personally.

Watch the video. He doesn't have anything to say. He took pictures of dead bodies, and then he completely speculates from there on out.

I love how he tries to make people think that he had authorization to wipe out a grid square at will.
And if he wants to bitch about 4-5 hours of power per day there, he should have been in Tblisi Georgia right after they tried to off their president. It was worse there and it wasn’t even a war zone.
And the whole “they didn’t want us there, we were oppressors” was bull[CIR]. They wanted us there after the first Gulf War for crissakes. And the “I’m sure it happened everywhere else in Iraq” bit is PURE speculation. Douchebag.

Well it would be nice if they all just wen away bit I doubt that is going to happen. Maybe one day the fold on the hill will wake up and smell the coffee and realize that not all is lost in Iraq. God forbid if Obama or Clinton win in Nov., expect more Iraqi and American deaths next year!

Someone needs to ask Goldsmith to sign a waiver for his military personnel/legal records to be released. If he wants to be a public figure and characterize his legal status and how it got that way, the public is entitled to see the official version of his discharge case.
